Finally I have the time to upload photos of the last exhibition which PERI (Paper Replika Indonesia) was participating which was held on 10-11 March 2012. All of these photos are taken by Royaje Roy Fitra at Jakarta Toys and Comic Fair 2012. I was there for two whole days wearing a Biker Scout armor. The main attraction was the Optimus Prime paper model, many visitors hard to believe it was made out from paper. We also had Linda Le (Vampy Bit Me) visited our stand and take some pictures with her camera. I devide all 30 photos into 3 pages, just click next or previous to see next or previous page. I also already add all these photos in Paper Replika photo gallery.
Cupank Mk.2 Flying Boat Paper Model
Inspired by the works of an impression artist Ian McQue, my fellow paper modeler Rizky (Tekzo) designed his own flying boat he called Cupank 2.0. Floating with its anti gravity engine and thrust with a single jet engine. He made his boat as it looks like it was built in the junk yard with rust and weathering effect everywhere. It is interesting he also include its slogan, Cupank : "her mouth is worst than her bite" as the name Cupank I think it is derived from Cupang, a type of fighter competition fish, which was very popular in the 80's in Indonesia. I remember when I was a child in 80's my friends were competing their fish in one on one fight in a glass jar until one fish is injured. It's good to know that I don't see any of that kind of activity now among kids nowadays , Cupang is actually a beautiful fish with colorful color and long tail. Rizky made this model template in 1:35 scale.
Gedung Sate (Satay Building) Paper Model
New release from Dani Hamdani, he created a template of a "Gedung Sate" (Satay Building). Gedung Sate is a historical and important landmark in west java capital, the city of Bandung. Originally it was a government company building or Gouvernements Bedrijven in Dutch, it is called "Gedung Sate" by locals because of the ornament in the center of the main tower looks like a Satay. Built by East Indies colony government, started in 1920 and completed in 1924. Designed by a well-known young Dutch Architect, J. Gerber and associates. The building design is a mixed of west and east influence, Italian Renaissance with Pagoda style roof, called a Meru. The facade also facing directly to The Tangkuban Perahu Mountain (upside-downed boat mountain) on the North. Dani didn't mention any scale here, but he did say the model length is 14 cm.
